SUPPORT the open passage expedition
The Open Passage Expedition is grateful for your support, whatever form it may take. Please follow our blog, and tell your friends about it as well. We’re keen on having as many people as possible follow our progress. We also need your referrals, contacts and suggestions. Please put us in touch with any friends, companies, or associates that may want to get involved. You can also visit the Contact page to sign up for our newsletters.
The Open Passage Expedition is a self-funded project, with some corporate support coming from a few generous equipment and service providers. We welcome individual supporters to get involved in the project by helping us financially. Donations will help pay for things such as safety equipment, transport, fuel and provisions.
For example:
$1.50 pays for one minute of satellite phone time
$5 pays for 1 metre of rope for trimming sails
$10 pays for a pack of seasickness pills (just in case)
$20 pays for one of the many sea charts we'll need
$40 will feed the crew for a day
$50 pays for a 6cm ratchet block
$100 pays for ice screws to anchor the boat to ice floes
$150 pays for a basic emergency flare kit
$200 pays for an inflatable life vest/sailing harness
$250 pays for a VHF radio
$500 pays for enough fuel to motor for 10 days
$1200 pays for a satellite phone
Thank you very much for your support, and we hope you'll follow the expedition throughout the summer. Please send us an email with any suggestions you may have.
